This is a prototype of a DIY pattern-making device. Several optical lenses move back and forth on a motorized track, like automatic camera zoom lenses. This action allows the reflected/refracted images to become in-focus and out-of-focus, and the projected image constantly transforms.

 

This was a collaborative work with Won, a designer–maker who creates kinetic art and design works.
