This work is intended to present perpetual and ephemeral moments of seeing. Kinetic illusions are generated by the refraction of light passing through transparent surfaces serving as lenses to virtually animate images.

 

The work was derived from research on early modern visual devices and display methods. In particular, I was inspired by Etienne J. Marey’s experiments with moving images and the presentation of unknown objects in the cabinet of curiosities during this period.
