Wave
2014
Interactive kinetic glass installation
Kiln-formed glass, electric motor, ultrasonic sensor, wood
Dimensions variable
This interactive work was designed to simulate a sense of wave motion through the use of linear patterns on glass panels. The motorized movement of the glass panels was designed to be very subtle.
The movement of the viewer triggers the movement. When the viewer walks by the work, the motors are triggered, and the panels move back and forth subtly. Hence, the viewer feels that the work is swinging due to the wind.
This was a collaborative work with Won, a designer–maker who creates kinetic art and design works.
